Meredith joined Campus Bound in 2004 after ten years in college admissions and high school counseling. Over the years, she has presented at industry conferences and to students and parents on myriad admissions topics. Meredith finds satisfaction in building a team of professionals who are all focused on helping students and families find the right colleges, at the right price, with minimal stress.
In Her Own Words:
My approach to college counseling:
“I love working with Campus Bound’s collaborative team members to reduce the stress of the college admissions process. Taking a methodical approach, being informed every step along the way, and knowing they’ve put their best foot forward allows students and families to be enthusiastic about this journey. College admissions should not be an overwhelming chore that lowers ones’ self confidence. I enjoy making this a fun and exciting process for Campus Bound families.”
What I love most about what I do:
“When I worked in college admissions, it was a pivotal time in the industry. Technology was allowing families and colleges greater access to information about each other. But these advances seemed to complicate the process, instead of making it easier. Because I believe the college admissions process should be exciting, not overwhelming, I switched sides of the desk to help families navigate through the media, hype, and fear that has become part of college admissions. It is incredibly rewarding to see teenagers (and their parents) complete the process, excited about their college destinations and with confidence that they made educated and thoughtful decisions along the way.”
How I enjoy spending my spare time:
“With two young children at home, my spare time is mostly filled with family-centered activities. We enjoy exploring nature through walks, hikes, or skiing, traveling to my husband’s hometown of Toronto, and spending time with family, friends, and our spirited cat. Additional interests include cooking, home-brewing, and a barely-under-control obsession with the music of Hamilton.”
